How to Care for your Silver Rosary
Beads
All my rosary beads are made with the upmost care using high quality sterling silver
centrepieces and crucifixes.
The pins and cross style links used in all sets are silver plated. I try to use
high quality components that are cost effective however I do not guarantee these components against
tarnishing IF YOU WEAR THE ROSARY BEADS AGAINST YOUR SKIN OR IF YOU WEAR
THEM IN THE SHOWER.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SILVER PLATING WILL LOSE ITS COLOUR IF IT IS CONSTANTLY UP AGAINST SKIN BECAUSE THE SWEAT, OILS AND ACIDS IN THE SKIN WILL AFFECT THE
PLATING. THIS WILL ALSO DISCOLOUR STERLING SILVER.
If you wear them over clothes then you shouldnt have any problems however all
Sterling silver oxidises over time when constantly exposed to the air. It can be brought back to sparkling new by rubbing with the silver polishing cloth or dipping in Hagerty's Silver
& Silver plated cleaner (see below)
It is recommended that you regularly clean your Silver rosary beads using Hagertys Silver & Silver plated dip cleaner - this is available online from www.koodak.com.au (Melbourne) , or from
Australian Jewellery Supplies (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth) www.jewellerssupplies.com.au - this is also a great cleaner for all your Sterling
silver jewellery
I haven't had any problem with the cleaner affecting the crystals or crystal pearls however, it is not recommended that you use
this cleaner on any set that contains CULTURED PEARLS.
Alternatively you can clean the centrepiece and crucifix with a silver polishing cloth e.g. Goddards brand available from major
supermarkets.
Rosary beads should be kept in the gift box when not being used. |
